A Truth about Love

February 14, 2011

Let me preface this entire post by telling you all that I really do not care for the Hallmark-created holiday Valentine’s Day. It is not because I am bitter about being single, but more so since I fail to see the point in the holiday. You do not need a day to be forced to buy or do something nice for your loved one when it is really the kind of thing you should be doing all year. Love is continuous and doesn’t conglomerate just onto one day. Of all the clichés and corny love quotes that crop up this time of year, it can be hard to find something that describes love in its truest form without getting carried away.  However, I think I found one that you might enjoy….

“Love is always bestowed as a gift-freely, willingly and without expectation. We don’t love to be loved; we love to love.”~Dr. Leo Buscaglia

Hope you’re enjoying your day. Have a great week!

See you next Sunday,

❤ SQ

I completely agree, love is a continuous act year-round, not just on one day…it would be great if the world considered doing a “Love Day”…a day where you give hugs or smiles or some compassionate act towards every person you come into contact with. (:

Its been a year since I found your blog! I remember having this in common with you. I just simply do not believe in V-day. But I do love hearts, so thats the only reason I’m glad it exisits.

And to just set it in stone, my distaste for this “holiday” I had the worst v-day “date” ever. haha! Its just so silly…

Anyway, still enjoying! Have a great week!

well i’m glad you still continue to find me interesting after a year!
oh no sorry to hear about your terrible v-day date. one of my friends that knew i didn’t like v-day thought it would be funny to leave me a rose from my “secret admirer” on the steps to my apartment. it was just not a good week after that. i’m sure the two of us will be perfectly happy in life not loving that fake holiday.
      have a great week too!
