Where is the love?

September 19, 2010
  • Title Inspiring Song: “Where is the love?”-Black Eyed Peas(really is not the best song to describe my post this week, but i borrowed the title from it and it’s a good song)
  • Thank you to those of you who have already clicked and helped to raise money for the SocialVibe cause and for those of you who have not there’s still time before it changes in October.

“We all want to condemn self-love; but what we really mean to condemn is contrary to self-love. It is that mixture of selfishness and self-hate that permanently pursues us, that prevents us from loving others, and that prohibits us from loving ourselves.”-Paul Valery

Good evening SQers! Hope you had a fantastic week. I know I haven’t asked in a while, but if anyone has ideas, suggestions or comments for future posts or ways to improve the blog..email me at the email address under the Ideas? tab at the top of the page.

Growing up we are also told how special & unique we all are. Then we grow up, burst out of the bubble and into real life. Then it’s not so much about how fabulous you are, but more about how the choices you make and your actions are perceived. Your personal time is limited and there’s no one to be your personal cheerleader.

No one wants to be the guy or girl who thinks so highly of themselves that they are cocky to the point of being obnoxious. However, I think there are certain times that each of us forget just how wonderful we are and that love no matter who it might be for has to start internally first.

There are volumes and volumes of psychological material explaining just what the value of self-love and self-esteem is. But heading back to basics in a quantitative sense, how can you expect to have enough love and time to dedicate to someone else when you can’t even save some for yourself? We are pre-programmed to be caring, to put other people first and to consider their feelings which is an excellent way to be. But when’s the last time you stopped to think about what your strengths and positive attributes are and spent time solely on one of the most important people in your life..y-o-u.

By no means should we all start walking around like royalty, commanding respect and shunning anyone that does not feel the same way. All that I am trying to say is that we should all take a little more time to love ourselves. You are an excellent person who deserves to be treated as such.

Take some time this week to show yourself some love even if it just a few minutes a day.

That’s all for now. See you next Sunday!

❤ SQ

I always tell my clients that! There is nothing wrong with loving yourself and thinking that you’re great. Everyone needs a little bit of that, because if you don’t love yourself than no one else really can either.
