Fade it out into the light. All these years we never got it right. I need to let it go…

  • Title Inspiring Song: “Let It Go”-Cavo
  • Apparently there was a SU2C tribute on tv last week. Did anyone else catch it? Again..a great cause..please don’t forget to click and raise money.

“Sometimes you’ve got to let everything go-purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything..whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.”-Tina Turner

Hola and Happy Return of Football Season to all my football freaks!  I hope that your weeks went well. I can’t believe it’s already been 9 years since 9-11. I just wanted to take a second to say that the lives we lost on that fateful day will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts no matter how much time goes by. Now let’s get down to business shall we?

So this week as you’ve probably guessed we’re talking about letting go. I am sure you have heard countless times the importance of holding on, of hanging in there through the tough times and persevering. As creatures of habit sometimes we take that mantra a bit too seriously to hold on when we really should be letting go. There are some circumstances in which holding on and sticking with certain things is an appropriate course of action. However, that logic does not apply when things continue to hurt you.

Holding on to things that hurt you hoping for change is idealistic and hopeful, but damaging to you in the long run. The pain, the tears, the hurt-just isn’t worth it sometimes. If it’s negative, damaging and a debilitating influence in your life rather than a positive influence let it go whether that means throwing things out, cutting ties or moving on. Purge yourself just like the Tina Turner quote says and refocus on what’s important in your life…you. Invest in yourself and your own goals.  Despite the initial pain that comes with letting go, you will be better because of it in the long run and the big picture. Man up and be your own bodyguard because you ARE an incredible person who deserves better.

Oh and just as another fun surprise, I found this wonderful quote this week that I have to share with you:

“What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect
everything. It will decide what gets you out of bed in the mornings,
what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you
read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy
and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.”-Father Pedro Arrupe

But that’s all for this week. Short & sweet.  See you next Sunday!

❤ SQ

That’s the trick, isn’t it, the question to be answered at various times in our lives – when to hang on and when to let go? You’ve done a nice job at illustrating what things we might consider when trying to figure that out…

it’s a tricky balance sometimes, but we can’t really hang on to either extreme
