The space between your heart and mine is the space we fill with time

  • Title Inspiring Song: “More Time”-Needtobreathe

“Time is an equal opportunity employer.  Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day.  Rich people can’t buy more hours.  Scientists can’t invent new minutes.  And you can’t save time to spend it on another day.  Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.  No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.”~Denis Waitley

“Time takes all whether you want it to or not, time takes all. Time bares it away, and in the end there is only darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometimes we lose them there again.” ~Stephen King

Well hello my wonderful SQers! I apologize for the lack of a post for you last week and the late one this week. I have been in the process of moving and getting readjusted to being back at school and in the city. But I’m back and will be until further notice. I hope you have all been well! . Enough of me blabbering..let’s get on with this week’s post

Time is everywhere. It is the invisible emperor coordinating and organizing our existence from the very moment we leave the womb. Everything is quantified in moments, seconds, minutes, hours, appointments, meetings, years, decades..etc. Most of our time is spent checking our watch, our cellphone, counting down the minutes until work is over or eagerly awaiting the next best thing. You would think with how much time we spent consulting the time that we would value our time & covet it for the priceless resource that it is. However, I would argue that most of the time we forget just how valuable time is. Naturally, we assume we’ll always have more time.

Unfortunately for us, life is not that perfect or fair to say the least. We often end up with a lot less time than we bargained for and we never quite know exactly how much we have. Also, as the Waitley quote so perfectly explains there’s no way of creating more. That being said, how do we live with that truth?

It is never ever too late to make a change and there is always room for progress and growth. Figure out if you are really doing what makes you happy & if not what it is that would make you happy. Hold on to that idea and go after it as if nothing stood in your way. All these rules and pretenses give us structure, but as I’ve said before, you are the master of your own fate. Run your own clock and keep your own time. Take this week to think about how precious your time is. If the time on your clock ran out today, would you say that you had no regrets and were content with the time you spent?

That’s all for now. See you next Sunday.

❤ SQ

Thinking about time, this lyric came to mind:

“The space between your heart and mine
Is the space we fill with time”
    ~ Dave Matthews
    ♫ (Space Between)
